Due to the current Covid-19 outbreak we have had to make several adjustments as to how we conduct consultations. These measures have been put in place to ensure the health and safety of our staff and clients as well as to try and ensure we can stay open. These are extraordinary times which require extraordinary measures. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding. This might mean limiting appointments on certain days. Unfortunately it does also mean that your preferred vet might not be available on a day when you need an appointment.
Please take note of the following:
We limit contact as far as possible and are requesting one owner per patient to enter the clinic. Please wait outside until one of our staff members greet you at the door.
We will then weigh your pet and bring you through to the consult room when the vet is available for the appointment.
Please sanitise your hands when entering the clinic
We would prefer contactless payment
Should you need a repeat prescription please call us as usual. We will try to take payment over the phone at the time of your call.

Dr Pieter Serfontein
I grew up on a cattle property in South Africa where my family breed Brahman Cattle. This is where my passion for animals started. After qualifying as a Vet in South Africa, I spent 10 years in the UK where I worked in both private and corporate small animal practice. I owned two practices in London (with one of my best friends from Vet school) for 8 years and managed a group of practices in Cambridge. I love both soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery. I met my Irish wife, Colette, while travelling through South America in 2008. We decided to move to Australia in 2009 and after living in Brisbane, Sydney and Rockhampton we finally settled on the amazing Sunshine Coast. In my free time I love spending time with my wife and kids!
Dr Mair Mitchell
I grew up in a rural market town in South Wales in the UK. From a very young age I had a burning desire to become a Vet loving all animals great & small, in particular horses. I studied Veterinary Science at The University of Bristol (UK) & graduated in 2000. I spent my first few years working in mixed practice in South Wales before getting married in 2002 & moving to Australia. Brisbane became our new home & I worked for 4 years locuming & running a small animal clinic. At the end of 2006 I embarked on a completely different pathway becoming a mum & taking an extended career break to raise our 4 beautiful children. We moved up to the Sunshine Coast & now live between Eumundi & Cooroy on 8 acres with a multitude of animals (& of course lots of horses!). I am very excited to be back working at a veterinary surgery part time & am so happy to have joined the wonderful team at Noosa Village Vets.
Dr Marion Brown
Marion Brown is a local product, growing up on the Sunshine Coast, yearning to be a vet from a very young age. She survived vet school to receive her degree with class 2B honours from the University of Queensland in 1989. Marion’s first position as a veterinary surgeon was in Mt Isa. She then headed further north to the Northern Territory, managing her own small animal practice on Groote Eylandt in the Gulf of Carpentaria.
Since then Marion has worked in Darwin, Sunshine Coast RSPCA and eventually extended her experience into emergency and critical care, first in Noosa then in Far North Queensland. Marion attends many continuing education courses in order to keep up to date with the latest in veterinary medicine. She also received the University Medal for further studies in Environmental Science at USC.
When not at work, Marion enjoys being active in the beautiful Noosa environment, running, cycling and swimming. In 2018, Marion received a place in the Noosa Triathlon Legends Club for racing/surviving this event for ten consecutive years.
Dr Andrew Telford
Dr Andrew joined the Noosa Village Vets in 2020. He has been living on the Sunshine Coast with his family since 2017 after moving away from Melbourne. Andrew has worked in small animal practice for many years and includes a two year stint in the UK in the 1990's. Now that he is living and working in Noosa he has more time to spend with his 3 girls who are at the Sunshine Beach State Primary and High Schools.
Dr Chris Smith
Chris grew up in a coastal town on the south-east of South Africa. He graduated in 2015 and after working in South Africa for a year decided to explore the land down under. He has worked all over Australia since, but the sunshine state kept calling and eventually settled in Noosa after recently joining the NVV team. Chris has a keen interest in small animal surgery.
When he is not working he can be found fishing rod in hand. He also loves diving, kayaking and camping with his fiancé and dog, Smudge.
Head Veterinary Nurse
I completed my Veterinary Nursing Certificate while living in Western Australia in 2013. Since then I have been lucky enough to work with my favourite furry, feathered, and scaly friends all around Australia. I have been privileged to work with koalas in Victoria and Queensland, and rescuing wildlife in the Darling Downs region.
The best part about working in this industry is the new challenges that come with each day. I am forever learning and discovering new ways of improving the life and welfare of creatures great and small. I love meeting people that love animals as much as I do and getting to know all the different characters of your pet family. There’s nothing quite like a pets gratitude when you’ve helped make them feel better.
I qualified as a Veterinary Nurse through an apprenticeship in Albury, NSW, my home town.
I worked as a nurse for 5 years and loved every challenge in a very busy environment. I love entertainment and conservation and managed to combine the two with a job at Australia Zoo where I was employed for four and a half years as part of the bird show team, which I absolutely loved! I became the head bird trainer shortly after starting with Australia Zoo.
I missed nursing and have decided to get back into Veterinary practice, where I can have a much more personal connection with clients and patients. I always try to give a 110% to all the patients in my care!
In my spare time I love to hang out with my German short haired pointer, "Gunnah" and my two chickens.
I was lucky enough to grow up here in Noosa. My family owned a large property where I was surrounded by all sorts of animals from horses to ducklings. This is where my love and passion for animals began. In my early twenties I was employed at a horse breeding stud in Kenilworth, on the Sunshine Coast. At the stud I worked closely alongside new born foals and beautiful stallions. This position also allowed me to work with many veterinarians and gave me an insight to the vet industry. I knew then that one day I wanted to study vet nursing. Today I am very fortunate to be pursuing that dream here at Noosa Village vet clinic. In my spare time I am either at the beach with my dog or horse riding in the hinterland.
I have grown up on the Sunshine Coast and could not think of a better place to have found work. Noosa Village Vet shaped the nurse I am today, nurturing my studies and employing me once completed. I have now been a qualified vet nurse for a year and find myself excited about the variety of skills I build upon every day.
It is my dream to one day travel and volunteer internationally with wildlife conservation organizations, animal sanctuaries and animal shelters to help improve the quality of life for all animals around the globe.
In my spare time I like to play touch football, see live music, and spend time with family and my bird, Birdie.

VACCINATE OR TITRE TEST
At Noosa Village Vet we do not think there is a single option that suites every patient. We offer yearly or three yearly vaccination as well as titre testing. For a titre test we only need a small blood sample which is sent to the lab and we receive a result within a few days. This will give us a very good indication of the level of immunity and when we need to vaccinate or titre test again. The option of titre testing rather than just vaccinating ensures that we vaccinate only when necessary. Titre testing is available for dogs and cats.
